Siheyuan is a traditional compound architecture in China. It was born in the Western Zhou Dynasty and has a history of more than 3000 years. Its pattern is that a courtyard is surrounded by houses in four directions, namely east, south, west and north.

Siheyuan are scattered throughout China in various types. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this architectural form was gradually improved, and later formed a unique architectural style in Beijing.
